The SHM North Jersey Chapter will be hosting an in-person meeting on Wednesday, September 25th at 6:30 p.m. ET at The Frog and The Peach in New Brunswick, NJ. Please join the chapter for networking and for an educational presentation titled "Climate Health and Healthcare: The Role of Hospitalists in Addressing Climate Change," provided by Dr. Catherine Chen.

Dr. Catherine Chen is an academic hospitalist and Associate Professor at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She has expanded her work to include environmentally conscious medicine, bridging her interest in health with waste reduction. Dr. Chen has been working with NJ ACP and the Clinicians for Climate Action NJ to bring healthcare systems towards sustainable care delivery through quality improvement and education. She is the faculty lead for curriculum development in climate health and environmental sustainability at RWJMS and a core member of the Rutgers University Office of Climate Action RBHS Unit. She completed the Climate Health Organizing Fellowship program in 2023. Her work aims to bring health systems in New Jersey towards environmentally conscious and sustainable care delivery through quality improvement and interprofessional education.
