"Child Development and SEL”

Meeting a child where they are at developmentally will enhance their ability to learn and gain valuable skills during their OST experiences.  This session will cover identifying developmentally appropriate content so that you know you are meeting each child’s needs based on their age, development and readiness.  We will also learn about the importance of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in developing age appropriate lessons and activities. Learn how the adults in a child's world can change their language, reactions, and behavior to enhance the experience of children with disabilities in out-of-school time programs. Take away practical ideas that can be used immediately.
