Monitoring physical measurements and vital sings helps us to understand how our body is functioning and to detect and monitor any health issues as well as alerting health care professionals to any possible concerns. This is an introductory session on taking patients physical measurements and vital signs and developing clinical skills in a safe environment.

 

The aim of this session is:

  • To gain an understanding of what physical measurements and vital signs are, why they are undetaken and to practice how to accuratley perform these and document the results.

By the end of this session you will:

  • Understand what physical measurements are and what they mean
  • Learn about vital signs, why and how we take these 
  • Identify what equiptment is needed 
  • Understand and practice how to assemble and use the equiptment 
  • Take physical measurements and vital signs and accuratley record the results
