Join the Plano ASG for its 2017 Workshop & Trunk Show featuring the incomparable Mary Ray. We’ll have Mary at our disposal Sept 29 for a Trunk Show that will be open to the public. On the following day - Sept 30, Mary will engage 20 very fortunate sewists in the Distinctive Details Workshop. Workshop participants will learn how to apply unique details to accessories and garments to set them apart. Imagine taking your most beloved TNT patterns and adding the most extraordinary details giving them an haute couture finish.

Workshop Details
Workshop participants will complete a group of samples based on functional/structural details as well as decorative/surface design elements. Attendees will learn:
Functional/Structural:
- Bindings and other edge treatments, closures, facings, hems, pleats, tucks & folds, quilting for garments; seams and seam finishes.
Decorative/Surface Design:
- Frayed and fringed edges, seam insertions, couching by machine, piecing and satin stitching, scrap fabric lace, using selvage, simple hand stitches, creating fabric collage.
Participants will leave the workshop with a group of samples of each technique. The kit fee is incorporated in the Registration fee and includes all fabrics, trims, stabilizer, and batting needed to complete the samples.
This event requires a sewing machine. ASG will have carts and bodies to assist in bringing in machines. Along with their machines, participants will need to bring basic sewing supplies: scissors, pins, rulers, basic sewing thread. (Specialty thread will be provided when appropriate.) Please note registration is limited to 20 people.
