Hope and Resilience in Los Angeles: Exploring Efforts to Address Homelessness on Skid Row Partial Approval - $70.00

Join us for site visits to organizations providing services on Skid Row, a portion of downtown Los Angeles containing one of the largest populations of those experiencing homelessness in the nation. You'll witness firsthand the various programs and resources offered through two organizations, The People Concern and the Downtown Women's Center, in support of individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and poverty. Program leads will discuss how they leverage resources to empower those in the community. We will hear about the range of services offered, from housing assistance and job training to mental health support and wellness programs. Don't miss this opportunity to explore the transformative impact of these programs as they strive to break the cycle of homelessness and foster a community where all can thrive. Please note that this tour may require walking through areas of Skid Row and several areas may not be ADA compliant. Close-toed shoes are required.

Choose between two pre-conference site visits on Tuesday, June 4 to witness firsthand the impactful efforts of LA's groundbreaking antipoverty organizations. Both tours will depart at 8:00 AM PDT and return by 11:00 AM. Space is limited, so we encourage you to register early!

How many attendees can the tour accommodate?  
Each tour is limited to 50 people. Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. 


When should I arrive for the tour? 
Please plan to arrive in Los Angeles, CA by Monday, June 3. The tour bus for both tours will leave from the Loews Hollywood at 8:00 AM PDT on Tuesday, June 4, and will return by 11:00 AM, in time for the opening lunch of the 2024 CAPLAW National Training Conference (separate registration and payment are required for the conference. Register here.) Meals are not included in either tour. You will receive additional details about the departure point closer to the tour date. 


What are the payment options?  
Credit cards are the only acceptable form of payment.


How do I request a W-9?
  
If you would like a W-9, please contact conference@caplaw.org. 


What is the cancellation and refund policy?
You may cancel your tour registration for a refund of your tour fees, less a $25 administrative fee, so long as we receive your cancellation request by Friday, May 10, 2024, via email to conference@caplaw.org. No refund will be available for any registrant who submits a cancellation request after Friday, May 10, 2024. Please contact conference@caplaw.org with any questions.

You may also transfer your registration to someone else, provided you update your conference registration ticket by having the buyer (the person who completed the conference registration and payment) log into their Eventzilla account and use the self-service option to update your registration information.
