A presentation by and discussion with Rabbi Marcia Zimmerman, Temple Israel, Minneapolis MN

---

The vicissitudes of faith involve the struggle not only to know but in some way be one's true self,
to take up the journey with all that one is and may become, and to encounter through oneself the ground of one's being.

One requires a certain faith to tolerate and respect the gaps through which the life of authentic meaning unfolds.
                                            ( Michael Eigen, 1981)

It is my belief that psychoanalysis is more mystical, spiritual and religious than its followers realize and religion,
especially spirituality, is more psychoanalytic than its followers realize.
                                            (James Grotstein, 2004)

The Minnesota Psychodynamic Clinical Social Work Association is open to all clinical social workers in the midwest who embrace or are interested in learning more about how psychoanalytic ideas contribute to working with clients in therapy and in other more traditional social work ways of helping. Membership is open to practitioners from all health disciplines who share in our commitment to learning about this insightful way to practice.
