The research and education community has long been a leader in the use of virtual environments to further the academic mission, and new applications are emerging with wider access to commodity VR hardware. This webinar will cover a brief evolution of virtual reality, augmented reality, and 360 Video and help institutions new to these emerging applications understand the differences between them and what their potential impact is for education and research. We will also explore tangible, existing applications of virtual and augmented reality in our community, including a glimpse into the future Metaverse of networked virtual reality worlds.You will also learn about VR/AR/360 video pilot partnership opportunities now being offered for Pennsylvania organizations to get involved in through KINBER.
