This workshops provides an introduction to recording Ireland's biodiversity and how to become a citizen scientist. This workshop is for those who are completely new biodiversity and biodiversity monitoring. We will be covering broad topics on:

  • What is biodiversity?
  • Why should we record biodiversity?
  • The role of the National Biodiversity Data Centre.
  • How to submit data to the National Biodiversity Data Centre.
  • Different ways to become a citizen scientist.
  • Basic fieldwork skills such as using a butterfly net.

Important to note: A ticket to this workshop does not include access to Fota Wildlife Park. There is a €3  charge for parking.
