Virginia Distillery Company is an American Single Malt Whisky distillery located amongst the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia.

Courage & Conviction, our American Single Malt whisky product, is currently being produced on-site using malted barley from the U.S. and water from Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Sherry, Cuvée and Bourbon casks are used to age this unique whisky. We expect to release this whisky in three to six years’ time from casking, with a target release date in 2020.

While we wait for Courage & Conviction to age, enjoy our Virginia-Highland Whisky series, made from 100% malted barley.  These whiskies showcase both Old World and New World whisky making. Virginia Distillery Company marries single malt whisky made on-site in Virginia with aged malt whisky from Scotland. A focus on cask finishing adds depth and complexity.

Port Cask Finished Virginia-Highland Whisky: The flagship in this series focuses on finishing in port-style wine casks sourced primarily from Virginia. Classic tasting notes include dark dried fruit, fig and caramel. This whisky was awarded Best American Blended Malt by World Whiskies Awards.

Cider Cask Finished Virginia-Highland Whisky: The Fall seasonal features finishing casks from a variety of cideries across Virginia, offering notes of apple, vanilla and toasted pecan.

Chardonnay Cask Finished Virginia-Highland Whisky: This Spring release showcases classic Chardonnay profiles such as pear, butterscotch and vanilla.

Brewers Batch Virginia-Highland Whisky (Beer Finished): Collaborating with local craft breweries, Virginia Distillery Company gives the brewery partner whisky casks to age beer in. The casks come back to the distillery to finish this whisky. Tasting notes will vary based on the originating beer profile but typically include hints of toffee and cocoa.
