So how do you do it?This talk will cover the following topics:1.) The key elements to constructing an effective pitch;2.) Developing a fundraising strategy (when, to whom, and how much)3.) The differences and similarities in launching a new startup vs. pushing for an initiative within a larger organization;4.) The balance of pathos (emotion) and logos (logic) in your pitch, and which one is most important; and5.) Axiom has eleven offices across Boston, California, NYC, Seattle and Malaysia and pro bono operations helping Rohingya refugees in Malaysia and supporting some of the poorest students in America. Shahzad is also on America’s National Education Reform Advisory Board and was recently named 2018 Entrepreneur of the Year (by E&Y). Previously, Shahzad was Director of Investments at a $50B sovereign wealth fund in Asia where he managed investments in the OIC, Education, Renewables, Biotechnology, Creative Arts and Technology. Shahzad was also Founder/CEO of the SAB Negotiation Group, turned around Website.com as CEO, taught negotiation at Harvard Law School, was a corporate attorney in Tokyo and Washington and co-founded the humanitarian relief NGO Doctors Worldwide. Shahzad was named a Young Global Leader by the WEF and was an elected delegate to the 2016 DNC. Shahzad graduated from Harvard Law School (JD), Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government (MPA) and Columbia University (Political Science-Economics and Biochemistry) where he was elected captain of the track team.
