In this PD, we will explore and participate in strategies, resources and content to help us design learning opportunities that help students makes sense of science concepts specific to genes and traits.  

 

NOTES:

  • Although the content focus is on genetics, any science teacher of other content/courses is welcome as some of the practices can be applied in other units.

  • This PD is designed for middle and high school teachers, so understand that some of the activities/content may need to be revised based on the grade level/course you teach.

This PD is worth .5 CEUs

All participants will receive a copy of the book Making Sense of Science: Genes and Traits and copies of the formative assessments that go with it.
