Please join the SHM BAAHM/Boston Chapters at their upcoming combined meeting on December 10th.
We are excited to announce that the SHM BAAHM and Boston Chapters will be teaming up to present our first annual medical storytelling event, "Story Slam".
We, as clinicians live in the realm of people's stories; those of our patients first and foremost, but also of ourselves and colleagues. As these stories are occurring throughout the Nation, various clinician groups at medical schools, hospitals and especially Hospitalists are getting together to share true stories that have in some way changed who they are today.
We are delighted by the great interest and excitement of our upcoming event, and even more delighted by the quantity and quality of stories submitted that you will have the opportunity to hear!

Andrew Modest has been a hospitalist who set up the first Hospitalist program at Mount Auburn Hospital for Harvard Vanguard in 1999. He has been on the Advisory Board of the Boston Association of Academic Hospital Medicine (BAAHM) since 2003, and Co-chair since 2017. He is the Chief of Hospital Medicine for Atrius Health Care, the Associate Chair of Medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital and an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School.
David Lucier is co-President of the Society of Hospital Medicine’s Boston/Eastern Massachusetts Chapter. Dr. Lucier practices as an Academic Hospitalist and serves as the Director of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety for Hospital Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.
