This is a course for health care professionals who are (or plan to be) engaged in simulation-based education. It includes a spectrum of content designed to advance the skills of both novice and intermediate simulation educators.

This course is running from Wednesday April 22 - Friday April 24, 2020 at 0830h-16:45h (all days) at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre , in Room 3100 - Ibn Sina Simulation Lab (Former Library - 3rd floor).

 

What you'll learn:

The principal aim of this course is to equip health educators to implement a variety of simulation-based learning opportunities for their students. The course focuses on the competencies required to

 

Develop a simulation curriculum and integrate with other learning activities

Design, develop, facilitate and evaluate simulation cases and simulation sessions

Provide effective feedback and debriefing

Describe the principles informing performance based assessment

Describe the foundations of program evaluation for simulation programs

 

Types of Registration:

Accreditation:

This activity is an Accredited Simulation Activity (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, and approved by University of Ottawa’s Office of Continuing Professional Development. Remember to visit MAINPORT to record your learning and outcomes. You may claim a maximum of 27.25 hours. Credits are automatically calculated.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

If your cancellation is recieved less than 2 weeks prior to the course start date, 50% of the course fee will be charged to your credit card. 

 

You may also request a one-time transfer to a later course (if space available). However, if you choose this option and are unable to attend the course you transferred to, no refund will be issued.
