This event is hosted by the Morris County Unit.
New to a Unit event? NASW-NJ has 12 volunteer-led, county-based Units that hold regional events around the state of New Jersey for members in that area. (However due to the public health emergency, Unit events will be held virtually until further notice!) These events are planned and coordinated by an appointed volunteer Chair and Co-Chair, as well as a Regional Representative from NASW-NJ’s Board of Directors. The Morris County Unit Chairs are Cheryl Cohen, MSW, LCSW (cherylcohen.msw@gmail.com) and Veronica Grysko-Sporer, MSW (vgsporer@gmail.com).
Unit events are a fun, informative way to grow your network near your home or workplace. These events are one of the many benefits of NASW-NJ membership, but we do invite all mental health professional to join us at this meeting. Learn more about our Units here.
Social Workers Need Support Too!

Zoom login information will be emailed to you once you register.
At our last NASW Morris County unit meeting, many members expressed an interest in connecting with others.
With that in mind, we invite you to join us for a drop-in, confidential support meeting where we can chat about the challenges we are facing as social workers and as individuals.
Here are some of the many topics we can talk about. The Pandemic has abruptly changed our lives and we have to keep finding ways to keep us moving forward. Many of us may have lost love ones, jobs, or coping with the negative impact on our lives. In what ways were you affected?
Many of us have personal challenges. How do we help our selves to over them? We experience resentment, anger, sadness which sabotage ourselves, in the way we think and react. How do you overcome these obstacles and self improve? As social workers we often find ourselves surrounded in groups and as our lives change it now has become much more solitary.
We hope you will join us to discuss these issues and any others that may arise. As social workers, it’s innate in us to help others. Now it’s our time to share our feelings and assist each other in working towards self improvement.
Cheryl and Veronica look forward to joining our meeting!
