South Dakota Badlands

Join Jason Odell to explore fine-art landscape photography techniques in an environment that can only be described as surreal. You will explore light, texture and clouds over the tremendous rock formations that have formed from erosion over the last 500,000 years. There will also be opportunities to photograph wildlife in and around the area.

Badlands Photo Gallery

When: August 29-Sept 2, 2021
Where: South Dakota Badlands (Wall, SD)
Workshop Fee: $1299 per person ($250 deposit)

About this workshop

This workshop is the perfect setting for photographers who not only want to photograph spectacular scenery, but also learn the behind the scenes techniques for processing and workflow, including HDR, infrared, monochrome, and long exposures.

Each day, you will have the opportunity download and process your images with the group, receive critiques, and learn new techniques to make your photos into fine-art masterpieces. I will work with you to capture and process the best possible images into beautiful finished products. Our focus will be on the complete end to-end workflow of landscape photography, from composition to final digital or print output.

Experience Level

This workshop is designed for intermediate to advanced photographers who wish to go beyond the basics of composition and exposure. Participants must have a fundamental understanding of how to adjust exposure and focus in their camera. Participants are expected to have a laptop computer with editing software (I use Lightroom Classic & Photoshop). You must have a basic understanding of how to use your imaging software to adjust exposure, contrast, and color in RAW images.
