“If you can smell the street by looking at the photo, it’s a street photography” – Bruce Gilden
Vancouver Photo Workshops proudly announces this 1 day exclusive street photography workshop with National Geographic Photographer Massimo Bassano (in Vancouver from Italy).
Street photography is a pure vision of the urban environment. It’s the reflection in the mirror that the photographer holds up to it. It’s a detailed, visceral record of street culture, capturing poignant moments, humour, irony and all manner of human emotion and experience.
This workshop begins with an introductory lecture and slideshow presentation by Massimo Bassano in the morning. Afterwards, we head out on the streets of gastown (and surrounding area) for hands-on street photography under Massimo's guidance.
Massimo has travelled to all five Continents for National Geographic, covering a wide variety of subjects. His enthusiasm about photography to discover people and culture is highly contagious.
For this workshop, Massimo will be joined by Myriam Casper, an emerging photographer who is based in Vancouver. Together, they will help you improve your street photography (and have a lot of fun in the process as well)!
Please note that this workshop is offered twice, on Saturday July 8th, and then again on Sunday, July 9th. It is the exact same workshop, so please choose the day that fits best with your schedule below.
This workshop is held at the Ironworks Studios, 235 Alexander Street in Vancouver. Free street parking located outside, ad there are several pay-lots in gastown (only a couple of blocks away). Bus routes #3, #4 and #22 have stops closeby.
While in Vancouver, Massimo also teaches an exclusive 4 Day Master Workshop on visual story-telling.
