Workshop 1: Building a Resilient Supply Chain
Date: February 14, 2025
Time: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Location: UHCL Pearland
About the Workshop 1:
This second installment of the Supply Chain Excellence & Resilience Series focuses on elevating your sourcing strategies and streamlining supply chain operations for cost efficiency. Designed for manufacturers and suppliers aiming to strengthen their competitive edge, this workshop provides practical tools, simulations, and methodologies to optimize sourcing decisions and operational processes.
Key features include the Dice Game Simulation, an interactive exercise that explores operational strategies, and the application of the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model to enhance sourcing decisions. Participants will also learn how to leverage the Sustainment platform to connect with suppliers and improve operational efficiency.
What You'll Learn:
- Sustainment Platform: Master tools to recruit and manage suppliers for seamless collaboration
- System Optimization: Apply the Theory of Constraints to identify bottlenecks and boost efficiency
- Interactive Simulation – Dice Game: Engage in a hands-on activity to explore the dynamics of operational decision-making
- Total Cost of Ownership (TCO): Evaluate sourcing decisions strategically to balance cost and quality effectively.
Why Attend:
- Build advanced sourcing strategies to reduce costs and increase operational efficiency
- Learn actionable methods for optimizing supply chain processes and overcoming challenges
- Participate in simulations that offer real-world insights and practical takeaways
- Network with professionals and gain insights from experienced faculty
Lunch Provided:
Enjoy a complimentary pizza lunch during the workshop!
Instructors:
Dr. Ipek Bozkurt, Ph.D., CPEM and Dr. Gene Shan, Ph.D.
Faculty of Engineering Management at University of Houston Clear Lake
Benefits of Attending:
