Phoenix Training: Addiction and Connection to Treatment is a four hour course, designed by experts in the field of substance use disorder, and taught by Public Safety Peer Educators.
In this course, attendees can expect to learn about the biology of addiction and the role that trauma plays in the lives of First Responders and the people they meet in the community. Additionally, we'll explore how stigmatizing language and behavior serves as a barrier to treatment, and how to best motivate an individual to seek help.
First Responder wellness concerns will also be explored, as you come to understand how the stresses of the job contribute to overall health and wellbeing.
