Tonia Jones-Dikuwa is a dedicated survivor-advocate and Licensed Mental Health Therapist whose personal and professional journeys intertwine to shed light on the complexities of domestic violence. In May 2022, Tonia faced a life-altering moment when she nearly lost her life while attempting to leave an abusive marriage. This harrowing experience became the catalyst for her mission to break the silence surrounding domestic violence, particularly among professionals in social services who often bear unique guilt and shame as survivors.
Driven by resilience and her commitment to healing, Tonia uses her platform to educate communities about the multifaceted impact of abuse and empower families, bystanders, and survivors to become advocates for change. Through her years of experience as a therapist and her lived experience as a survivor, she has become a beacon of hope and connection, offering tools for healing and fostering understanding in the broader community.
Tonia is passionate about bridging gaps within communities by helping individuals recognize survivors, both in their moments of victimhood and triumph. She believes that the fight does not end when the abuse stops—it continues through the journey of reclaiming life and identity.
With an unwavering commitment to advocacy, Tonia works to create spaces where survivors feel seen, understood, and supported, inspiring resilience and hope at every step.
