Friday, August 13 - Sunday, August 15, 2021
One of the most enduring an well-known works of late medieval spirituality is The Imitation of Christ by Thomas à Kempis. This retreat will examine the text as a model for our own spiritual lives in the twenty-first century. Thomas' emphasis on interiority and the role of the Holy Eucharist in the spiritual life, in particular, will be analyzed and set up as a model. Further, the Benedictine roots of his spirituality will be addressed.
