Welcome to a Fun-Filled Afternoon With Local

Artist

Jim Heyward!

What it Is:

Veterans and one guest each are invited Saturday, August 24th, 2024 to join Jim Heyward and some assorted Coalition staff in a table event at the Civic Center housed in the lower level of Independence’s Memorial Hall, at

 410 N Penn Ave

Independence, KS 67301

(620) 332-2508

Attendees will find all of the supplies needed for each one to sit, set their canvas in front of them, and work with the Artist-Instructor to emulate his example work displayed on the elevated platform at the front of the room. This is not a competitive event, but instead is intended to be a fun and enjoyable way to casually build a skill as well as well as build teams and bridges with other. Following the completion of the session, you will be given the choice to keep your work or surrender it to the Coalition staff to be included in an auction of unique perspectives to be valued by open bid which will take place in Independence at a venue To Be Announced a little bit later. All proceeds from any auctioned items will go directly back into the SEK Veteran Providers Coalition Community Fund and be used to support the development of similar projects in this community and all over SEK.
