Celebrate Social Work Month and join Chef John Morgan virtually for an unforgettable Middle Eastern cooking experience!

During this live, interactive online cooking class, Chef John Morgan will teach you how to prepare traditional Middle Eastern dishes.

You'll create a decadent vegetarian lentil soup, along with savory Egyptian style kofta, unleashing mouthwatering spices of garlic, onion, and cumin. You'll also unlock the secret to ancient Egyptian ingredients. 

You don't want to miss out on this event!

Ingredients for cooking class: 

•3 plum tomato

•3 medium yellow onion 

•3 cloves garlic 

•2 medium cucumbers small diced 

•1 Spanish pepper (long pepper) finely diced

•5 sprigs parsley chopped 

•5 sprigs for cilantro chopped (optional) 

•1 lime

•8 oz. red lentils 

•Pita bread or pita chips 

•1 lbs. ground beef (ground chuck preferred) 

•1 ½ cups plain breadcrumbs

•2 eggs 

•1 teaspoon Baharat spice mix (see Baharat spice mix ingredients below)  

•Fresh ground black pepper 

•Corn oil 

•2 cups medium grain rice (Goya brand recommended)

•½ cup vermicelli pasta  

•White vinegar

•Kosher salt 

 

Ingredients for spice mix (optional)

•2 tablespoons ground cumin 

•1 tablespoon ground black pepper 

•1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

•1 tablespoon ground allspice  

•1 tablespoon ground coriander 

•1 tablespoon ground paprika 

•1 teaspoon ground cardamom 

•½ teaspoon ground cloves 

•½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
