The Virtual Signs of Suicide (SOS) Facilitator training is designed to give your facilitation team (typically schools counselors, mental health and support staff) the tools and knowledge needed to successfully bring the SOS program back to their schools, and roll out training to faculty and staff, parents and students. This virtual training will take place via Zoom, and feature digital engagement techniques and plenty of opportunities to work with your team and the trainer. The SOS Facilitator training supports the development of the district’s implementation plan, and walks the team through the program’s activities and resources. It also includes valuable information on how to implement SOS during COVID-19, including updated guidance and resources from Mindwise (the organization that leads SOS). Regional SOS Facilitator Trainings will be provided for identified adult facilitators in each region of Connecticut, resulting in the team members learning the tools and techniques to effectively train staff, parents and students on the Signs of Suicide.
