Western Branch


Western Branch is a journey along remote country backroads and secluded forestry tracks. A hidden gem in the Mt Stanley Region that is spread across two council jurisdictions (Somerset and Gympie Regional Council). This is a genuine 'off the grid experience' - no mobile service, no Google Maps listing, no traffic, no people. You'll be running among herds of cattle that graze the valleys of Western and Eastern Branch. This is a trail running experience like no other. Welcome to COUNTRY QUEENSLAND!!!

Cut Off Times

Western Branch 100km - 18 hour cut off

Western Branch Marathon - 8 hour cut off

Aid Stations

Aid Stations will be located at least every 20km on the 100km course, and at least every 10km on the marathon course.

Crew

There will be no crew access on the course besides the start/finish line. 100km runners have the option of 1 drop bag at the halfway point of the course.

Camping

Campsites are available at the Mt Stanley Campdraft grounds. There is a $20 entry which is included in the ticket price. The venue has toilets, power, licenced bar.

Mandatory Gear

·         Fully charged head lamp (100km runners)

·         High visibility clothing or vest (green, blue, pink, yellow, purple, red, orange). Black, white, and grey clothing is not recommended

·         At least 2 x 600ml water bottles

·         Snake bandage

Recommended Gear

·         Extra headlamp battery for 100km runners

·         Hydration vest

·         Hat

·         Watch

·         Drop bag for 100km runners

Cancellation policy

Refund and Transfer Policy

Cut-Off Dates

Ticket holders of WESTERN BRANCH 100KM & WESTERN BRANCH MARATHON are entitled to a refund, or one (1) transfer to the following year up until 11.59pm April 25 2023. After 11.59pm April 25 2023, ticket holders cannot access a refund or transfer, and subsequently incur a 100% loss on funds if unable to attend the events. 

Cancellation Fee

There is no cancellation fee prior to April 25 2023, however ticket holders may incur a PayPal processing fee if the refund is requested after 180 days of purchase

Transfers

Ticket holders have the option of transferring their registration to the following year. This can only be actioned before the cut-off date of 11.59pm April 25 2023, and can only be actioned once (two transfers are prohibited).

Ticket Name Change

Ticket Holders can opt to 'give away' or 'on-sell' their ticket to another party at any point prior to 48 hours of race start time. It is the ticket holder’s responsibility to organise this themselves and inform the race organiser of the relevant name change.
