Topic: What Works in Therapy?

Speaker: Dr. Douglas Behan, DSW, LCSW

Research has proven that psychotherapy is effective. Despite hundreds of theoretical models, no model has proven superior. Why? This webinar will provide an overview of the psychotherapy research literature and explore the common factors found in all effective psyhoterapies. Understanding these factors will make your work effetive and inclusive.

Objectives:

2. Recognize specific common factors and identify ways to incorporate them into their work with clients.

3. Identify the need to routinely start with the client’s cultural understanding and response to their problems
