Who’s ISSAC?
Who gets called and consulted when there is an international crisis that might put our university travelers at risk? Who decides whether a student can do a co-op in a high-risk country? Who can help me consider security risks at my international research site? And who the heck is ISSAC?
If you’ve wondered about any of those questions, and/or if you travel on university business, please come to the next Compliance Colloquium to learn about the role played by the International Safety and Security Assessment Committee (ISSAC) in supporting our students, faculty and staff in their global experiences from co-op to Dialogues of Civilization, from recruiting trips to advancement events and research. Join Acting Senior Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education & Experiential Learning, Kate Ziemer, and Associate Director for Public Safety and Security, Khushal Safi, for a discussion of ISSAC’s history, membership and role in addressing international safety issues as Northeastern continues to expand its global presence, and the percentage of students pursuing global experiences grows.
