AFA members and their families are invited to hold a Wotan On The Peaks with The Wild Hunt Kindred Saturday August, 18th in Western North Carolina.Look for signs pointing toward the Art Loeb Trail at Black Balsom Knob around Mile 420 on The Blue Ridge Parkway. There is parking along the side road towards the top of the mountain. We'll plan on meeting at the trailhead and start the hike at 11:15am.The hike to the top of the peak is moderate and mostly uphill but very close, less than a mile. After the ritual, people will be welcome to spend time there at the top, enjoying the breathtaking view, while others are invited to continue hiking along the ridge for a lovely 3 mile round trip.Be sure to bring plenty of water and I'd highly recommend sunscreen (there are no trees where we are going). Some other things you might want to have handy are snacks for the trail, bug spray, a walking stick or hiking pole, a sun hat, and a light folding chair if you plan on hanging out on the peak instead of hiking. You will need a pair of good close-toed shoes. Please reach out to Ryan Deal with any questions: rdeal@runestone.orgHail Wotan!
