She moved from the classroom and clinical environment into nursing education leadership and found that concepts that led to success for her students also led to success in nursing program development. By providing structure and leadership, she has been able to assist struggling programs to improve NCLEX pass rates, achieve compliance with regulatory bodies, become integral components of their educational institution, and grow to serve their surrounding communities. Dr. Collazo is active in state and national nursing organizations, as well as service projects.

She earned a Doctorate in Education specializing in Online Learning and Educational Technology from Northcentral University, an MSN from University of Missouri, Kansas City, and a BSN from St. Louis University. In addition, she is certified as an online instructor and instructional designer. Dr. Catanzaro’s clinical work history includes the areas of medical-surgical, cardiovascular, operating and recovery room nursing. Dr. Catanzaro has taught at the undergraduate and graduate level both on-ground and online. Dr. Catanzaro is an Editorial Board Member for the Online Journal of Distance Education Administration and a Certified Peer Reviewer for Quality Matters.
