The lights. The glamour. The stars. The stories. The moments that we remember forever. For so many of us, the movies and TV shows were where we first found refuge for being queer, where we first saw ourselves or someone like us. Now, we head to the place where those movies and TV shows are made - for the first time ever, DLP is gathering in Los Angeles, California!
Join us in Los Angeles from June 1 - 5 for Convention 2023! This year we're meeting much earlier than before, and we are so excited to see you among all the brotherly faces gathering from across the world! We've got a lot of information below about the event — keep scrolling!
REGISTRATION
Registration for Convention is broken into tiers. There are separate categories for delegates, actives, new alumnx (those who have changed to alumnx status in DLP within the last 3 years - dating back to 2020), and alumnx/guests.
It's worth noting that our active chapters are already being billed for 2 delegates, with the cost of registration and hotel accommodations covered by this charge (as per Section 9.7 of the Bylaws, added by decision of the 2020 Convention). Chapters will be given a special code to register their delegates by each regional director.
VIRTUAL OPTION
Returning this year, if for some reason you can't join us in person, we're bringing Convention to you! You will have the ability to watch and engage in almost all the Convention 2023 happenings: workshops, the business meeting, receptions and the banquet. This flat rate registration will give you access to stream the events live and watch recordings at your convenience. The schedule below notates which events will be available virtually.
HOTEL
This year's event hotel is the
Hilton Los Angeles Culver City, only 3 miles from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and near multiple public transit options. Plus, it's close to many attractions: less than two miles from Silicon Beach, 10 minutes from Loyola Marymount University and Sony Studios, within 15 to 20 minutes of SoFi Stadium, the Jurassic Museum of Technology, Venice Beach, and Santa Monica Pier, plus much more!
The hotel has a beautiful outdoor pool, a full restaurant and bar and a fitness center. Our special room block rate ended on May 10, but rooms at the regular rate may still be available. Contact the hotel for details.
DAVID L. WEST CONVENTION ASSISTANCE FUND
The David L. West Convention Assistance Fund application for Convention 2023 is now OPEN. Created in 2012 and named in honor of Br. West (who pledged that any brother who wishes to attend Convention should not be barred due to financial inability), the fund provides financial assistance to those Brothers who don’t have the means to attend the Fraternity’s Annual Convention.
Not to be confused with the Delphi Academic Scholarships, the application deadline for David L. West Conference Assistance Fund is Wednesday, March 15, 2023. The fund’s primary form of assistance is to cover registration costs for recipients, meaning the cost is 'waived' for them. The recipient should expect to be responsible for all other costs, including travel to/from Convention, incidental costs, food (not including meals covered as part of registration), and any additional events that may cost above and beyond the registration fee (e.g. excursions or alumni outings).
Alumnx Engagement can assist recipients in some regards to link to possible sources of support, but final support costs fall on the recipient. All awardees may have to volunteer time to the Fraternity at the Convention. Any member of DLP, not currently under suspension, is eligible to apply.

SAFETY
All event attendees are REQUIRED to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they have a qualifying medical exemption. Please upload your proof of vaccination when you complete your registration. All attendees will also be required to complete a rapid-test for COVID-19 at on-site check-in (these will be provided by DLP as part of your registration fee). Masks will be required for indoor DLP spaces.
