Join the Plano ASG as Judy Nordseth teaches us how to make rope bowls! This is a three-hour workshop! Most bowls take only an hour and a half to make (although it will undoubtedly take longer in class). Judy will show you a few options of how to finish off the bowl with handles and/or swirls. If you're adventurous and wish to add some color to your bowls, you can bring 5-10 fabric scraps in a 2" width and 3" or 4" length and you can randomly wrap the rope in various spots.
Rope bowl workshop supplies:
100 feet of 7/32" or 1/4" cotton rope (synthetic core is okay) This can be purchased at Home Depot, Walmart, Amazon and most hardware stores. This is enough for two medium to large bowls.
Roll of Scotch Magic invisible tape (we can share as you only need an inch)
Sewing machine that sews zig zag
Thread to match rope (You may want to wind a couple of bobbins in matching thread to save time)
4 pins
Stiletto or crochet hook
Scissors
Optional: Bring glue gun if you want to end with a swirl, or you can sew it in class and attach it later at home.
Place: Judy will be teaching at the Best Little Retreat Center of Texas at Belt Line Road and Coit.
